Anti-Kite Flying Democratic Front Chairman Khwaja Izhar Amratsari has asked the Punjab Chief Minister to impose ban on kite flying. In a letter to Punjab Chief Minister, Amratsari said the Hindu of Lahore in memory of their hero (Bawa) Haqiqat Rai, Blasphemer who was hanged to death by Lahore Governor Nawab Zakria Khan, started a mela at the Smadhi of the condemned Haqiqat Rai.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh also followed this and continued holding of meal at the Smadhi of the condemned Haqiqat Rai after killing of the Muslims families, connected with evidence leading to the hanging of Shatan-e-Rasool, he added.
